Novel Series Timeline (2024)

• Phillip Blake along with his brother, Brian, grew up in Waynesboro, Georgia. He married Sarah Blake who died in a car accident several years before the turn.
• Brian Blake was a failed music store entrepreneur and moved back in with his parents after a brief marriage to a Jamaican woman named Jocelyn.

• Nick Parsons went to high-school at Burke County, Georgia with his two friends Philip Blake and Bobby Marsh. He also hunted wild hogs with his father and Uncle Verne.

• April and her family were in the Chalmers family band where she played the guitar
• Her sister Tara played bass
• Her father David played the mandolin
• Her mother Lillian sung high soprano before passing away.

• Lilly Caul worked for the U.S. Air Force at the Dobbins Air Base in Georgia, she went to Sprayberry High School with Megan Lafferty, where she wanted to find a career in fashion.
• Lilly's mother died due to cancer so her father, Everett Ray Caul, had to raise Lilly as a single parent.

• Joshua Hamilton was a master chef who looked after his mother, Raylene Hamilton, who had been diagnosed with Lupus Erythematosus.
• Raylene Hamilton would take in anyone, from shaggy dogs to misfits to hardened panhandlers to the homeless and bake them corn bread and mix up sweet tea.

• Philip, his daughter Penny and his two friends Nick and Bobby run into Brian who was hiding in a crawlspace in his parent's empty town house. They take him with them which Phillip isn't too thrilled with.
• Lilly Caul and her father Everett Ray Caul stuck together for a short while before they were attacked by a small heard of walkers. Everett saved Lilly by locking her in a school bus which was saving survivors but was devoured right in front of her. Lilly contacted her friend Megan Lafferty afterwards and they met up at an air force base.

Brian Blake sits in the closet of a house tightly covering the ears of his niece Penny Blake next to him from the sounds of heads being smashed in just outside. Brian is worried about the trauma Penny has gone through over the past three days of the apocalypse and starts violently coughing which brings out a couple dead things. Brian looks up to his younger brother Phillip who always seems to know what to do. The noises stop outside the closet and Philip Blake opens the door. He tells them they got all the dead things and Brian asks if hes sure. Philip ignores him and comforts Penny. They walk out the closes and Brian sees the bodies of a recently reanimated family dead on the floor. He throws up

• Penny stays in the closet with a penguin toy Phillip got her from one of the rooms whilst the others move the bodies out.
• Brian starts to worry over a picture of the family on the piano where the 6 people they put down are visible, and a 7th; a young boy with blonde hair.
• After searching the house some more, Phillip assures Brian that they've killed them all. Brian doesn't say anything and just stares at his soggy cereal.
• Bobby who is raiding the kitchen finds loads of fresh food stored in the fridge and cupboards.
• Nick calls out that Fox 5 News has gone down. The only remaining News channels are Atlanta stalwart and CNN which are showing the same bullet points and instructions that have been on for days. Brian's BlackBerry is spotty in the area and when it does work it just comes up with blind emails and cryptic tweets.
• Phillip, Nick and Bobby are passing around a bottle of scotch. Phillip asks Penny how she is doing and if she would like to stay for a while which gets everyone's attention. Phillip tries convince everyone to stay in the house because at this point, the government in Atlanta are going to be difficult to get to and won't have a number of things such as beds and food for everyone, hot showers etc. And they can fortify the house using the nailgun they found. Brian suddenly agrees and helps convince the others.
• He feels proud of himself and takes a large gulp of the scotch before spraying it all over the floor in a coughing fit which makes everyone hysterically laugh genuine laughter.

• They sleep in shifts that night each with their own room. Phillip is awake downstairs next to Penny who unsuccessfully tries to sleep. Phillip tells Penny that they won't 'get sick'.
• Brian can't get to sleep, hes thinking about his failed marriage, the missing kid, and how the nailgun could be useful when he hears a vigorous scratching noise come from the attic. He thinks about getting Phillip to deal with it but decides to investigate himself to prove that he's capable. Brian goes up the ladder and freezes at the sight of a coffin.
• Phillip comes up and assures him that its actually a tanning bed but they both hear the noise. Phillip reluctantly lets Brian deal with it and so he opens the lid, getting ready to swing his baseball bat down on the kid head when a mouse darts out. Brian hits the floor and a Jack in the Box activates. Phillip goes "Boo" with very little humour in his voice.
• Their moods improve in the morning during a large breakfast prepared by Nick.
• Afterwards they explore the vicinity of Green Briar Lane and discover a treasure trove of supplies and building materials. Either side of the colonial are free of walkers, the residents must have escaped as soon as it all went down.
• Phillip and the others begin work on the barricade around the house. Brian plays with Penny on a delux swing set. Phillip gets attacked by a zombie through the barricade and he kills it with the nailgun. He talks about this after dinner, they discuss hooking the thing up to a battery so they don't have to worry about extension cords. Brian mumbles to himself about the zombies possibly not being dead and Phillip tells him that on Monday he saw half of one get dragged away by a car and that they're dead.
• Several zombies pass the house, bumping into the barricade and shambling away.

• Penny plays in the backyard with Brian whilst the others sort through their inventory.
• Phillip and Nick secure the window wells in the basement and try to unsuccessfully rig the nailgun to DC power whilst Bobbie, Brian and Penny play cards.
• After dinner they all watch a Jim Carrey movie and almost feel normal again. After Penny goes to bed they discuss long term plans.

• Nick is still keeping tabs on the radio, TV and Internet most of which have resorted to 24 hour civil defence announcements.

• By late morning the sky clouds over.
• In the afternoon a chill mist falls on the community.
• The group talk more about Atlanta.
• That night Phillip sees a dozen zombies, 200 yards away, coming towards the house.

Whilst on watch at night, Philip sees in a flash of lightning a group of a dozen or so zombies coming towards the house. In the morning they clear out the zombies. Bobbie stops to rest next to a dog house in the garden and is bitten by the missing child who was hiding in there. Philip drags the kid off him and Nick kills it. Philip ties Nick's belt around Bobbie's leg and tries to comfort him while Nick attempts to bandage his leg but is refused by Bobbie who tries to put the nailgun up to his head. Philip decides they should amputate his leg when Brian realises and tells them he's died. Bobby begins to reanimate so Philip shoots him with the nailgun. • The group leaves Wiltshire Estates.

• Atlanta is overrun with zombies. April Chalmers saves the group.

• David Chalmers dies and reanimates. Philip puts him down.

• Philip accidentally rapes April.

• Tara Chalmers forces Philip's group out of the apartment. Later they find a Peach Villa to live in.

• The Peach Villa is invaded by Tommy's group. Penny is shot and killed.

• Philip rapes the captive invaders, Sonny and Cher.

• Nick euthanizes Sonny and Cher.

• Philip's group arrive in Woodbury, Georgia. Bruce and Gabe's first appearance.

• Philip's group explore Woodbury and don't speak to anyone.

• Twenty-Four walkers attack Tent City.
• Philip brings Penny into their apartment and chains her up in the laundry room.

• Megan Lafferty's first appearance.

• Bob Stookey's first appearance.
• Brian visits Dr. Stevens. Philip starts feeding Penny human remains.

• Three days pass in Tent City without walker attacks. Chad Bingham becomes the de-facto leader.
• Nick shoots Philip, causing Brian to kill Nick.

• Tent City is attacked by a swarm and Sarah Bingham is devoured by walkers along with fifteen other survivors.

• Fort Noise is destroyed and Tent City burns to the ground.

• Martínez and his crew invite Josh's group to live in Woodbury. They meet the Governor.

• Dean Gorman and Johnny Pruitt fight and inspire the guardsmen Arena battles.

• Lilly breaks up with Josh. Josh is shot in the back of the head by Sam. Sam is killed in the first Arena fight.

• Lilly, Stevens, Alice and Martínez celebrate Christmas.

• The Governor celebrates New Years and rapes Megan. Scott's head is in a fish tank.

• Megan hangs herself from Bob's balcony.

• Bruce and Gabe Arena fight. The Governor announces upcoming supply runs.

• Lilly, Martínez, Gus, David, Barbara and Austin witness a helicopter crash and rescue the survivor.
• The Governor murders Christina.
• Rick Grimes, Glenn and Michonne arrive in Woodbury.

• The Governor rapes Michonne all night.
• The Governor rapes her again later that day.

• Lilly finds out she's pregnant.

• Eugene Cooney kills Harold Abernathy before their fight.
• Michonne fights in the Arena, kills Eugene and all the biters.
• Martínez helps Rick's group escape, Stevens is killed.

• In the middle of the night the Governor is tortured and mutilated by Michonne.

• In the Governor's absence, Lilly Caul leads Woodbury.

• The Governor wakes up from his coma.

• The Governor tells Lilly to put together a team to find Martínez.

• Lilly's team finds Martínez reanimated. The Governor reveals himself to the town and declares war.

• Lilly has a miscarriage.
• The National Guard Station is blown up and Bruce is killed.

• After searching all night, Gabe, Gus and Rudy discover the prison's location.

• Woodbury spends the second week stockpiling weapons.

• Woodbury spends the third week acquiring a tank.

• The Governor tells Lilly the assault is tomorrow morning.

• First prison assault.

• Tyreese is beheaded. Second prison assault. Gabe is killed, the prison is destroyed, Lilly shoots the Governor. Austin is bitten.

• Austin sacrifices himself to the super herd so the survivors can escape.
• The group cleans up Woodbury. Lilly tells the town everything and becomes the new leader.

• Bob shows Lilly Penny and they put her down. A funeral is held for her.

• Calvin Dupree and his family are given a tour of Woodbury.

• Hap Abernathy is bitten and commits suicide.

• Meredith Dupree commits suicide by blowing up the super herd.

• Calvin is shot by his son, Tommy. Jeremiah's suicide plan fails. Matthew is killed in a shootout. Most people in Woodbury are devoured by the herd.
• Jeremiah, Stephen and Reese escape from Woodbury down to Florida.

• Bob Stookey is alive, the survivors of Woodbury relocate to the sewers.

• Jeremiah murders Patrick Murphy.

• Jeremiah takes over leadership of the Most Holy Redeemer's Parish convoy.

• Gloria Pyne is bitten on a supply run and dies after Bob amputates her leg.

• Rory and Melissa Thorndyke and several other families all abandon Jeremiah and the caravan.

• James and Molly Frazier abandon Jeremiah and the caravan.
• Bob Stookey dies from a heart attack, Jeremiah launches an attack on Woodbury, his men are killed.
• Jeremiah is shot several times by Lilly and dies leading his horde away from Woodbury.

• Rafael Machado wakes up in a deserted prison about to be struck by a tsunami. He gathers some supplies and climbs aboard a working helicopter. The violent winds make the helicopter crash into the ocean near Florida. Rafael escapes with some of the supplies and swims to shore. He rests for a moment and creates a makeshift camp to stay the night.

• He wakes up and makes breakfast before discovering his first 'possessed' American and putting it out of it's misery. He is disappointed as he thought America would be uninfected and have an answer to what was happening.

• Rafael makes it to Marathon, Florida.

• Rafael makes it to Orlando, Florida and sees lights in some of the building windows. It being dark and not knowing what people are like, he decides to avoid it.

• Rafael makes it to Gainesville, Florida and sees a small group of survivors on horseback not too far away. He waves at them however they do not respond.

• Rafael makes it to Georgia

• He wakes up and begins looking for some more gas for his SUV in Thomaston when he sees a lone survivor with a silvery-grey goatee fighting off a group of walkers with a flaming torch. Rafael feels sorry for this man and shoots the walkers from a far with a sniper rifle. Confused, the man just stands there for a brief moment once all of the dead are killed until he sees Rafael's bright yellow rain coat. The man calls out to Rafael and asks him to show himself which Rafael complies with. The man introduces himself as David Stern and suggests that they should travel together as it is safer which Rafael agrees with after thinking for a moment. They climb onto David's makeshift carriage pulled along by Shecky (David's horse) and talk about where they are from, David explains that he is out looking for his wife, Barbara and that he burned his town to the ground after a rescue party never returned and he left and came back to a bunch of bandits squatting in their home.

• Lilly Caul and some residents of the Ikea on Sixteenth Street are cleaning out a part of the building. Lilly kills an old walker with a name tag which says Fred. Meanwhile two intruders are watching the group and after being caught by Lilly, beg for her mercy. Lilly shoots them both point-blank in the head and checks for their dying pulse. They dump the bodies and the walkers into large bins outside the building and Lilly goes to change in the women's restroom. Bethany Dupree knocks the door and tells Lilly that the others are waiting for her in the cafeteria. Lilly goes over to the cafeteria, a large room the size of an aeroplane hangar, and breaks the news to the group that they have to leave the Ikea because of all the recent attacks and how much of a target it is. Boone says he knows exactly where Lilly wants to go and reminds Lilly that Woodbury was burned to the ground when they last visited a month ago. Lilly admits that she is obsessed with the place and says that they can slowly move out and come back for stuff. They vote on who wants to leave and Tommy is the only one who votes to help rebuild Woodbury.

• A family of four are fleeing from a large vehicle in the rain. John Stack gets shot and begs his family to leave him and escape with their lives. Jennifer Stack discovers that there is no blood from the shot when the large vehicle pulls up next to them. A man accompanied by several men introduces himself as Spencer-Lee Dryden he says he doesn't want to kill any of them and shot John with a rubber bullet. He wants to take them to a safe place where they can all be safe (the children most of all), he will go as far as to kill anyone who stands in his way and enslave the kids if it means they will survive. They decide to play along and board the vehicle when at the last moment Kourtney Stack freaks out and runs away, her father goes after her and both are knocked unconscious with a sap. John wakes up in the back of the truck Kourtney is still asleep. The family are taken to this camp which looks like a military outpost. They are escorted to a trailer where they'll live and given some work uniforms with incorrect names on them by Sally Dryden (Spencer-Lee's wife). The family takes in all that has just happened and settle down. John looks behind a couple crates and through a window into the next trailer where he sees a woman sitting in the corner and several children playing on the floor. The woman is Ashley Lynn Duart who was kidnapped along with her boyfriend's children a month back. She sits there for a moment before putting on a fake smile for the children and deciding to make macaroni and cheese for dinner and secretly checking for a road flare under the counter.
• After preparing all day, Lilly and Tommy have finished loading up the horses with supplies and are ready to return to Woodbury when Musolino, Boone, Burt Stankowski, Eve Betts, Norma and the kids arrive, loaded with supplies having all voted together and changed their minds. Sophie Leland stays behind to look after Doe, and a group of heavily armed teenagers stay to guard the place from any attacks.
• Ash sneaks out of her trailer and goes over to the Dryden's. Spencer-Lee and Sally are having passionate sex when she sneaks in. They're about to climax when Ash saps the back of Spencer-Lee's head. He falls onto the floor and drifts in and out of consciousness and sees Ash sap Sally's head then tying her hands to the headboard and gagging her with a piece of fabric. Spencer-Lee comes to and bear tackles Ash they slam each other into the walls before Dryden begins strangling Ash on the floor. Ash ignites the road flare and shoves it in Dryden's mouth. He stumbles around the trailer knocking over shelves. Ash steals his car keys and police special and escapes the trailer. Dryden gets the road flare out of his throat and passes out. A shootout begins outside between Ash and the guards and she kills a man named Fitz. She frees several families including the Stacks and Nesbits who help fight before escaping with Ash and the Quinn kids.

• Lilly's group leave the underground IKEA parking lot and begin their journey.

• They pass the Great Georgia Dome which has caved in in two places. The streets are flooded with sewage water and a swarm of walkers rise out of the water and attack Norma. Musolino tried to rescue her but slips and Bethany Dupree calls out to her but before she knows it, she's being washed away down the street with dozens of dead. Lilly almost sacrifices herself for Norma but Musolino stops her knowing that Norma is already gone and there's nothing they could do. They put down the dead and move on. Norma is still alive and managed to hold onto what appears to be a wooden door as she drifts down the flooded streets towards to Chattahoochee River.
• Ash unintentionally leads the families into a swarm of walkers. There being no other way for them to escape John Stack heroically sacrifices himself for the group. In the confusion Ronnie and Dina Nesbit get devoured and the others are forced to move on.
• Lilly spots a small group of survivors running out of the woods and Tommy recognises the woman leading them to be Ash. The 2 groups reunite and Ash introduces Lilly to the families. Jennifer, Kayla and Kourtney Stack, Cindy and Teddy Nesbit and the Quinn kids, Bobby, Chelsea and Trudy. As Lilly begins to introduce Ash to the sixteenth street survivors Johnny Musolino gets shot through the neck from a man with almost all his face bandaged and one eye visible hiding in the trees. Not too far away 3 more survivors are on the scene: Jamie Quinn, Frank Steuben and Caleb Washburn who think they spot Ash. They witness Musolino getting shot and the survivors getting into their cars and horse drawn wagons preparing to escape. Lilly and Tommy load Musolino onto their wagon and Lilly tells Tommy to being CPR.
• A car chase begins and Tommy believes that Musolino isn't going to make it and is about to put him down before he turns. Lilly commands him not to and Tommy takes the wheel. She sits his body up and waits for him to reanimate. His eyes turn a milky white and she throws him over into one of the cars. The Musolino thing bites into Antonie Spanic's genitals and begins to eat him alive. The driver Barret Deems doesn't know what is going on in the back before its too late and he is devoured by the large walker. The car crashes which results in others crashing from both sides, Burt Stankowski crashes into the car and is flung out of it and dies upon hitting the ground the 3 remaining members of the Stack family died upon impact. A stray bullet shot by Martin Haywood Boone hits the driver of a large Kenworth unbeknown to him contains 2 families: The Weimanns and the Fordhams the driver was Sally Dryden who then becomes dizzy and loses control, she crashes into Eve Bett's flatcar who Martin is on board. Eve dies and Boone is thrown off of the flatcar and partially breaks his skull he is then devoured by walkers knowing that he may have saved the children by causing a crash that big. Lilly's horse wagon crashes but the children are safe inside. The horses are devoured my swarms of walkers which have emerged out of the woods drawn to the noise. Lilly, Ash and Tommy get out and fight off the swarm. Lilly doesn't even care about dying and almost gets bitten by a walker but a third party from the woods kills the remaining dead before they get to the survivors. It was Quinn's group and before they can head towards Ash and Lilly's group Caleb is fatally bitten 3 times by a walker which came from behind them. Jamie Quinn tries to stop the bleeding as they drive towards Ash.
• They call out to the survivors and Ash is delighted at the sight of her boyfriend whom she hasn't seen in months. Another car comes to a stop out of sight from the others and the bandaged man (Spencer-Lee Dryden) steps out of the passenger side. Daniel Klouse watches curiously as Dryden pulls out an RPG and aims at the oncoming jeep. He fires a rocket which flies towards the jeep and blows it and the passengers to pieces. Everything happens in slow motion and Ash screams out in terror. Fragments of the vehicle fly out from the explosion and one impales Klouse. The survivors escape with the children.

• Dryden finds and rescues Frank Steuben who miraculously survived the explosion. He was catapulted out of the vehicle, still on fire, to the ground. He managed to extinguish himself, and hid from walkers despite being badly injured. Dryden starts to medicate him which keeps most of the pain away. However, Frank absorbed severe scalds from the explosion, had lost a lot of blood and had his leg impaled with a sharp splinter from the fence he hit after the explosion. Dryden demands him to reveal everything he knows about Lilly and Ash, and tortures him even when he could not answer due to his pain and medication. Frank eventually answers his questions. Finally, his vision starts to blur and his speech starts to hesitate. Dryden kills Frank in what he sees as a mercy kill.

Failed assassination, Tommy goes missing, Back to Woodbury Rafael hanging from a crane Dryden kidnapped David and Norma, saps Lilly and Ash, puts them in a hole

• They wait in the hole for 12 hours and are occasionally fed cans and given books and board games to play and read, Dryden goes on a supply run and Lilly and David start talking. Dryden returns and starts reading a story about a ‘queen who couldn’t bear children’ and a ‘great plague’ obviously in reference to himself, Sally and the apocalypse. He is cut off mid story as a bullet erupts out of his neck throwing bone fragments, flesh and blood into the pit. He collapses and his body dangles at the edge of the pit. Tommy Dupree returns and goes out to find some rope he returns a while later and falls into the pit himself because he is dizzy. He reveals to the group that he was bitten by a child walker shortly after arriving at Woodbury. Lilly is distraught over this and wants to cut off Tommy's bite to save him however he refuses as it is too far gone. Moments later Dryden reanimates and fals into the pit right at Lilly's feet. The walker bites Lilly on the ankle, tearing off flesh. It goes for David however Bethany Dupree saves him by stabbing the walker with a machete. They cut off Lilly's foot and she passes out as a swarm of walkers arrive and fall into the pit. The group work together to kill the walkers. Lilly fades in and out of consciousness and witnesses Ash puts down Tommy. Nobody feels they can sleep that night.

• Norma thinks she knows a way out of the pit and tells David. In the morning they pile up the bodies of walkers and Dryden to escape the pit. Lilly is lifted up on a makeshift garden chair stretcher and they make their way through Woodbury. They walk past ruined buildings and bodies until they make it to the infirmary below the racetrack.

• A month later David Stern helps Lilly try to walk with her new prosthetic foot. He has become the new town doctor and works in the infirmary used by Stevens and Bob Stookey before him. Lilly has only left the room once to attend Thomas Dupree's funeral to which she cried all day. David and her walk out to see the children defending the walls, flowers growing and people working to rebuild the small town of Woodbury. Lilly thinks to herself that maybe, just maybe... This time it'll work...
